COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will provide lecture and hands-on demonstration in the field of Orthopedic and Pain Management Massage for upper body conditions. The goal of this course is to provide the practitioner with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the most common upper body conditions.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will become proficient through lecture and hands-on demonstration for the following upper body conditions:
- Low back pain/sciatica
- Medial and lateral epicondyles
- Rotator cuff tear pain – infraspinatus vs. teres minor strain
- Supraspinatus tendinitis
- Subscapularis tendinitis vs. bicipital tendinitis
- Cervical spine conditions/headaches
- Frozen shoulder and thoracic outlet syndrome
- Carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel
- Bicipital tendinitis
LEARNING OUTCOMES
This course will provide lecture and hands-on demonstration in the field of Orthopedic and Pain Management Massage for upper body conditions. Practitioners will learn a comprehensive approach for getting to the root cause of your client’s pain. Proper functional assessment skills will be addressed to isolate specific structures. This course will equip you with protocols for pelvic stabilization and anterior shoulder postures prior to cervical work. Practitioners will gain knowledge and language to empower the client to understand the underlying condition and biomechanical factors so they can implement self-correcting stretching and exercises to promote pain free range of motion.
