    • AND – Orthopedic Pain Management Massage Lower Body 2 Day Course
    • OR – Orthopedic Pain Management Massage Upper Body 2 Day Course
    • Orthopedic and Pain Management skill set as approved by the instructor

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is an advanced course designed specifically to address your most difficult cases, acute and chronic in nature, focusing on integrating upper and lower body conditions and protocols.

The course is designed to help the practitioner build assessment skills, a therapeutic skill set, and strategies for addressing orthopedic conditions.  The practitioner should come prepared with questions and concerns regarding their difficult client cases.  The goal would be to learn new skills and strategies to promote healing and positive outcomes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students Will:

  • Learn physiological landmarks where muscles, ligaments and tendons attach. (Including PSIS – Posterior Superior Iliacus Spine, ASIS – Anterior Superior Iliacus Spine, the Greater Tubercle).
  • Assess muscle imbalance
  • Integrate assessment skills and therapeutic modalities (i.e. Orthopedic and Pain Management, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Kinesio Taping) to help obtain optimum therapeutic results
  • Learn to assess the clinical starting point at each client session

 

COURSE OUTCOMES

This course will provide continued theoretical instruction in the field of Orthopedic and Pain Management Massage for both upper and lower body conditions.  Theoretical instruction will include advanced training in assessment and treatment of presented clinical questions.    Practitioners will gain knowledge and skills for a comprehensive approach to treating ongoing orthopedic conditions.  Upon successful completion, practitioners will have in-depth knowledge and the skill set to treat client conditions from an Orthopedic and Pain Management Massage approach.
